NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression is a leading cause of disability globally, affecting over 264 million people. Anxiety disorders affect another 284 million people. Suicide, often linked to mental health conditions, is the second leading cause of death among 15-29-year-olds. Mental health issues can affect people of all ages and walks of life. These alarming statistics highlight the urgent need for both citizen and governmental attention to mental health issues. Investing in mental health is not just a moral imperative but also an economic one. Addressing mental health can lead to significant improvements in individual well-being, community health, and overall societal productivity. Research shows that spending time in nature can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Spending time away from screens and removing yourself from work and personal stress is vital to positive mental health. Participating in activities like going for a walk, spending time by the sea, or simply being in green spaces can have profound positive effects on mental wellbeing.
The non profits we are supporting!
We understand that in order to heal humanity, it is imperative that we care for our home, planet Earth. That is why we are partnering with The Blue Indigo Foundation, which works to conserve the natural, cultural and social resources of our oceans, specifically the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve, located in San Andrés, Colombia. Trillions of pieces of plastic pollute our oceans today, and the problem is worsening. This plastic has a devastating impact on marine wildlife and ecosystems. Plastics can persist for many decades, continuously degrading into microplastics. These can be ingested by wildlife and later enter the human food chain. Plastic pollution is a global crisis requiring urgent action.
